Information to help make your library experience a rewarding one.

This website was created to pass on information to you and to try to keep you informed as to what is occurring in our library. Sometimes, we take photos during our programs and activities that we will post on facebook and the website.

If you would like to opt-out of having your photos and children's photos on this website and facebook, please let us know and we will kindly take them off. Thank you.

Using Your Library
To get started using our collection of over 22,802 books, you need to register for a library card.

Your library card will give you access to a world of books, movies, and more.

There are many ways that you can get the greatest value from your library card and we continuously look to find new ways to increase our service to you.

What do you think your library card is worth today?

Library Cards
As a part of your tax-supported library service, library cards are free for those who live within the Marseilles city limits.  Adults must present a valid photo id with their address on it and a second proof of residency.

A parent must accompany a child when applying for a card and have two (2) proofs of residency.

The child must have completed Kindergarten.

Patrons from other libraries within the RAILS/PrairieCat can present their library card for reciprocal borrowing privileges.

Renewing Your Materials

Books can be renewed once if no one is waiting for it. There is no charge for DVDs.

DVDs can be renewed if no one is waiting for the DVD.

Books not renewed will incur a fine of 10 cents a day.

DVDs returned late will incur a $1.00/day late fee per DVD.

Please do not place DVDs in the outside dropbox. If DVDs are placed in the outside drop box, there will be $1.00 charge per DVD. Patrons may call to renew before the due date if all requirements are met.

The late fine will still apply to the days overdue before the renewal.

After a period of 1 week, if materials are not returned, there will be a hold on the account as well as the cost to replace materials not returned. a $5.00 processing fee will be added for each item not returned.

Interlibrary Loans
Books, DVDs and other items can be borrowed from other libraries.

You can place a hold on items from your account or a staff member would be happy to place the hold on your account for you. You will be notified when an item comes in for you. You will have six business days to pick up your item. After six days, the item will be returned to the lending library if you have not picked it up.

To set up your account, go to search.prairiecat.info. Log in using your patron barcode and pin number (the last four digits of your barcode). From your account, you can view what you have checked out, view fines and fees, place a hold, opt in to have Encore retain your reading history, and update your account information,.

For Fall River Township patrons, you can place holds on materials that Marseilles Public Library owns and we will have the items waiting for you to pick up.
